New agent gets landlords on rightmove cheap

A new online lettings agent is charging landlords a one-off fee of £39 for a tenant-find advertising service. The service includes listings on Rightmove and other major portals.

Monster Homes, based in Essex, is run by a former estate agent who is also a landlord.

Managing director Neil Baldock, who co-founded Monster Homes last year, said: “More and more, we are hearing from landlords that they feel it is unfair to be charged a whole month’s rent just to find a tenant.

“We don’t think this is right either, so we will find landlords a tenant fast but charge a fraction of the cost. And we publish all our prices on our website so landlords can see from the start what they are going to pay. We like to think of our fees as fair.”

The firm, which provides other services including full management and rent guarantees, follows others such as Movestart and Upad into the price-cutting arena.

The £39 is a special deal until the end of the month: the fee will then be £49.
